A small hamlet hidden in a valley and accessed via a narrow lane, Welltown is a cluster of dwellings, an old farm that was depicted on the 1840s Walkhampton Tithe Map. As with so many rural communities, this one has not changed much in nearly 200 years.
Welltown can be reached from Walkhampton along a public footpath; perhaps afterwards visiting the fine church on the hill.
