Dartmoor 365 365 Notes: For 365 this item is the large Clapper Bridge between just upstream from Beardown Bridge and is included in M9.

This bridge was washed away during the great flood of 1873, but it was rebuilt. In 1890 the bridge was further damaged and, as Crossing (1912) tells us, the DPA (Dartmoor Preservation Association) restored it. The Association was only formed in 1883 so this was a big achievement for them.
