The beauty of this place blew me away. Situated in the valley of the Teign, and just north of it, there is a woodland of unparalleled beauty that is open to the public (always a bonus!). Owned by the National Trust, there is a figure of eight walk that takes you alongside part of the river with its impressive deposited boulders and through a bluebell wood. Outcrops of granite occur at the top of the wood which is much steeper and there is an overwhelming sense of biodiversity here; well worth a visit. (MP)
