This blowing house is a fabulous ruin, situated beside the River Meavy at Black Tor Falls. Nearby the Hart Tor Brook makes its rapid descent to meet this river at a weir where a large part of the flow is directed into the Devonport Leat through a pipe. On the lintel above the door of the blowing house is an inscription. (MP, July 2022)
