Notes: From Steve Grigg: “Descending the slope to the tramway leading to Holwell Tor quarry, a probable Medieval settlement comprising three possible buildings, can be found. Jeremy Butler, (1991) in Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume One – The East, records that little trace of the first settlement (bronze age) remains here. He states that: “The granite tramway and shallow tinner’s pits encroach on the site. Most of the damage has been caused by the Medieval occupation of the site”.”
