This pond was constructed by Kelly Mine some time ago in order to provide a reliable, year-round water supply to the mine from Bullaton Stream. Kelly Stream, which is much nearer the mine and part-involved with the site, is ephemeral and dries up in summer. Quarter Mile Pond transports water down to the mine by means of a pipe which has seen repairs in recent years. PRIVATE LAND.
