Taw Marsh is rather on the contrary; it is a huge, flat bowl where the waters of the Steeperton Brook, River Taw and Small Brook converge. There is a surprisingly clear track from Horseshoe Ford along the west side towards Steeperton Nose, while another track crosses the ford and follows the east bank of Small Brook below Big Whit Hill.
