This classification includes all of the tors and rocks that are not named on the current Ordnance Survey Maps, OL28 Dartmoor, OL44 Torquay & Dawlish and Explorer 108 Lower Tamar Valley & Plymouth. These are known as 'lesser-known tors' (LKTs) which means that they are less well-known about because of their omission from maps, but they are still well worth visiting. Articles about LKTs have appeared and continue to appear in Dartmoor Magazine and Dartmoor News. A superior coverage of those on East Dartmoor can be seen in East Dartmoor's Lesser-Known Tors and Rocks by Max Piper. For full write-ups, please visit the Tors of Dartmoor website, run by Paul Buck, Tim Jenkinson and Max Piper.
