The location of Crip Tor is disputed, as this location is favoured by the Tithe Map of the 1840s, whereas today it is generally located at the farm (on private land). Maybe there are two Crip Tors? Maybe even three as Ingra Tor has also been called Crip Tor!

This Crip Tor, by Swelltor Quarry, is also known as Inclined Plane Tor (a name given by Eliza Bray) and, to some, Swell Tor Stack. Below it is Sailors Home Quarry and an explosives store by the access track/ tramway.
