This is a magnificent example of an abandoned apple crusher, situated amid a huge settlement consisting of ruined hut circles. Nearby is a wealth of more prehistoric archaeology including stone rows, cists, a standing stone (menhir) and a stone circle. Thanks go to Sheron Vowden for showing me this item in August 2019 on the pre cream tea walk (the cream tea was to be had at Two Bridges where D365ers meet!). In the Featured Image you can see Sheron telling the walking party about the relic. It really is a fascinating area to explore and so accessible – well worth a visit. (MP)
